8 hurt after crash involving school bus on I-94 in Hudson
Eight people were hurt Thursday morning in a crash involving a school bus near the Minnesota-Wisconsin border.
It happened at around 10:30 a.m. on Interstate 94 in Hudson.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says two lanes of westbound I-94 were closed for construction and, as vehicles were merging onto the interstate from Wisconsin Highway 35, a car stopped to allow a vehicle to merge. That caused other vehicles to hit the brakes, and a school bus carrying students from DeLong Middle School in Eau Claire rear-ended an empty CMV tanker trailer.
Authorities say six people on the school bus suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Two others were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that the State Patrol also considered minor.
The crash remains under investigation.
No other vehicles were involved and the lanes reopened at around noon.
