Chicago man dead after Friday night shooting in Minneapolis
UPDATE 4/15/24: The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified the victim as 27-year-old James Nelson Purifoy of Chicago. The report listed the cause of death as a gunshot wound of the torso.
Original story 4/13/24: A man is dead after a shooting in Minneapolis on Friday night.
Officers from Minneapolis were called to the 3600 block of Penn Avenue North just before 9 p.m. on a report of a shooting.
A spokesperson for the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) says officers found a man in his 20s with potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds.
The man was brought to North Memorial Medical Center for treatment, where he later died, according to MPD officials.
There have been no arrests.
MPD is investigating.
