Man dies in construction accident in Champlin

Authorities say a Prior Lake man was found dead early Sunday morning after he was pinned inside a construction vehicle that tipped over in Champlin.

According to the Champlin Police Department, officers were notified around 12:45 a.m. that a Bobcat had flipped over behind a Dairy Queen at 11200 Aquila Avenue North. The caller said her brother had been working in that area clearing brush on Saturday afternoon.

Officers found a skid loader that had tipped forward down a slope with the operator trapped inside, police said.

The operator, who was identified as a 43-year-old Prior Lake man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
