Minnesota sees 14 additional COVID-19 deaths, 214 additional cases
Monday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported there are 214 new cases that have tested positive for COVID-19, creating a total of 3,816 cases in the state.
MDH also reports 286 total deaths, with 14 additional deaths reported Monday. According to the department, 12 of the 14 deaths were reported at longterm care facilities. Ages of the 14 who had died ranged from those in their 50s to those in their 90s.
The department stated, as of Monday, the state has completed 11,493 tests and private labs have completed 49,775 tests.
Of the total, 861 cases have required hospitalization, with 292 currently in the hospital and 122 in an Intensive Care Unit.
According to MDH, 1,842 patients have recovered and no longer need to be isolated.
According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected about 2,994,690 people worldwide and killed about 207,270.
More than 881,640 people have recovered worldwide as of Monday.
According to the CDC, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Some patients report having muscle aches, headache, sore throat, and/or chills and shaking.
