Police: 1 dead in north Minneapolis shooting
Police say a man was fatally shot Thursday afternoon in the Cleveland neighborhood of north Minneapolis.
A Minneapolis Police Department spokesperson said officers first responded to a report of a shooting just before 4:40 p.m. near the intersection of 39th and Sheridan avenues.
The victim was found shot inside a parked car. Emergency responders gave him CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
On March 4, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the man as 22-year-old Dwight William Alexander of New Brighton, saying he died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Several cartridge casings were found at the scene.
Homicide investigators are still trying to piece together what happened; no arrests have been made.
This marks the city’s 10th homicide of the year, according to MPD data.
