Last Wednesday, police said investigators found human remains in a Clay County landfill, which they believed to be those of Avery. Monday, the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office positively identified the remains as Avery.
Court documents say Broad admitted to killing and dismembering Avery with a saw, then putting the body parts into garbage bags and throwing them into dumpsters at an apartment complex.
