Man in serious condition after being attacked with a knife at Woodbury’s Markgrafs Lake

Woodbury police are providing more details about an attack involving a knife that left a man in his 70s seriously injured Thursday afternoon.

Officers were called to the south side of Markgrafs Lake around 3:30 p.m., where they found an injured man who wasn’t able to provide details about the suspect. The man was brought to Regions Hospital, where he was listed as being in serious condition.

On Friday morning, police said they checked the area for evidence, as well as any home surveillance cameras in the area, and add they would like to speak with people who were in the lake area between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Police add they are aware a person identified as a female saw the victim after the attack and are interested in speaking with her. The female was said to be walking a dog that may have been a golden retriever.

The victim hasn’t been able to provide details about the assailant as of Friday morning.

No word on what provoked the attack.
