38-year-old killed in Cook County snowmobile accident

A 38-year-old man was killed in a snowmobile crash on Poplar Lake, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Authorities believe the crash occurred sometime Thursday night and the victim was found by another snowmobiler on Friday.

Investigators believe Jeffrey Knaeble, 38, from Grand Marais, hit a rock and was thrown from the snowmobile he was riding.
