Police: Willmar man turned himself in following hit-and-run crash that killed Cokato man
One person is dead after a hit-and-run in Willmar on Tuesday night.
Police say the victim, identified Thursday morning as 52-year-old Jason Daniel Jarvis of Cokato, was taken to the hospital after being struck near the intersection of First Street and Willmar Avenue just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Law enforcement shared on Wednesday morning that Jarvis had died.
Investigators were searching for a dark-colored, four-door sedan that was northbound on First Street at around 8:07 p.m.
However, police said a 33-year-old Willmar man had turned himself in on Wednesday, and a vehicle has been seized as evidence. His name hasn’t been released as of this publishing.
No word on what led up to the crash.
Formal charges haven’t been filed as of this time.
