Light snow overnight into Tuesday morning commute, cold Halloween forecast

Here’s your Monday evening forecast for October 30, 2023 from Minnesota’s Weather Authority and Meteorologist Wren Clair.

Scattered snow is in the forecast this evening, as well as overnight into Tuesday morning. Scattered snow is more like for the metro past the evening commute, and especially overnight into the morning commute. The I-94 corridor and the eastern half of Minnesota into western Wisconsin could see a coating of snow up to about 2″ of snowfall. Temperatures overnight are in the mid to upper-20s, with strong northwesterly winds. Some black ice is possible overnight into early tomorrow morning, mainly before sunrise (7:49 AM), and especially on bridges and overpasses.

Allow some extra time on the roads tomorrow morning, with slick spots, and reduced visibility at times. A few scattered snow showers are possible through the morning commute, but we should be dry by 9/10 AM.

On a positive note, we’ll have decreasing cloud cover into Tuesday afternoon. So, we should have some peaks of sunshine. Winds stay breezy for trick-or-treaters tomorrow afternoon and evening, but at least you can count on dry skies. Highs tomorrow are in the mid-30s, but by the time kids and families are out trick-or-treating, it’ll feel like the mid to low-20s.

Have a wonderful night!

Wren
