MDH reports 463 new COVID-19 cases, nearly 100 more than previous high

Wednesday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported 463 new COVID-19 cases and 18 new deaths, moving the state’s totals to 4,644 cases and 319 deaths.

The department stated, as of Wednesday, it has completed 11,910 tests and private labs have completed 54,834 tests.

Of the total, 950 cases have required hospitalization, with 320 currently in the hospital and 119 in an Intensive Care Unit.

According to MDH, 2,043 patients have recovered and no longer need to be isolated.

According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected about 3.1 million people worldwide and killed about 218,000.

More than 948,000 people have recovered worldwide as of Wednesday.
