Two people were found dead in a home in the city of Ham Lake on Wednesday morning.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office said it received a 911 call from a residence near Guadalcanal Street and 159th Avenue Northeast at about 9:24 a.m.

Authorities responded to the home and believed they heard a gunshot come from inside the residence, the sheriff's office said. At that point, deputies set up a perimeter and attempted to make contact inside the home, but those efforts were unsuccessful.

The sheriff's office said deputies later entered the home and found two people dead. They haven't been publicly identified at this time.

Neighbor Dewayne Hoium told KSTP a husband and wife lived in the home.

"This is a total shock," Hoium said. "He rode a bike. She walked every day. It just doesn't make sense."

The investigation is ongoing.

The sheriff's office said there is no threat to the public and no suspects are being sought in connection to the incident.
