Minneapolis awards total of $200K to organizations providing mental health care

Wednesday, the city of Minneapolis awarded $200,000 from its COVID-19 Emergency Mental Health Fund to a number of organizations in the community that are working to provide mental health care.
The fund was established by the city's Division of Race and Equity to provide services to city residents who may be experiencing mental health issues related ot he COVID-19 pandemic.

A release from the city said 29 community organizations will receive between $2,500 and $7,500.
Services offered by the providers include psychotherapy, group healing circles, counseling, mentoring services, resource sharing and peer support.
The city said a majority of the organizations who received funding are new providers and more than 80% of the people receiving services are people of color.
