Evening and overnight showers and thunderstorms, isolated strong to severe

Happy Friday, and congratulations on today’s much needed rainfall! The morning rainfall brought around an inch of rain to most of the metro. Right now storms are moving through the Twin Cities again this evening. Some storms will be strong, and isolated severe storms are possible into the overnight hours. Scattered showers and storms are possible Saturday morning.

This weekend brings a very hot and humid end to the month of September, and potentially record heat for this Sunday October 1st (record high is 87°, set back in 1897). Twin Cities marathon runners will need to take extra precautions race day.

Enjoy the warm start to October, because temperatures take a major tumble by the end of next week.

Have a wonderful weekend!
