UPDATE 9/22/23 – Authorities have identified the man killed in a north Minneapolis shooting earlier this week.

According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office, 29-year-old Antwan Terrell Eiland died from multiple gunshot wounds Wednesday on the 300 block of West Broadway Avenue.

Eiland’s death has been classified as a homicide.

Police haven’t announced any arrests for the shooting.

INITIAL REPORT 9/20/23 – One person is dead and another was injured after a shooting in north Minneapolis Wednesday night.

According to Minneapolis police, at around 9 p.m. officers responded to 328 West Broadway on a report of a shooting. Officers arrived and found a 29-year-old man with life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Police provided first aid, but despite their efforts, the man died at the scene.

While at the scene, another man arrived at Hennepin Healthcare with what they saw was a non-life-threatening injury. No other details about that man were immediately provided.

Investigators said Thursday that an interrupted armed robbery preceded the shooting and shots were fired.

Forensic scientists are processing the scene and collecting evidence. Homicide investigators also arrived on scene and are speaking with witnesses.

People involved are cooperating with investigators.

No arrests have been made at this time.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the victim along with the cause of his death at a later time.
