Investigation underway after stolen vehicle hits, damages St. Paul home

Authorities with the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office are investigating after they say a stolen vehicle damaged a home in St. Paul during the overnight hours Wednesday.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a deputy patrolling the 1000 block of Geranium Avenue around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday saw a white Kia Sorento with license plates that were assigned to a Chevy Tahoe.

The deputy then tried to do a traffic stop, but the Sorento’s driver began driving off at a high rate of speed. Eventually, the deputy stopped chasing the vehicle in the area of Orange and Early streets, and lost sight of it shortly after.

However, the vehicle reportedly crashed on the 1200 block of Edgerton, and hit a house.

Although a search of the area was done after the homeowner reported seeing a male run from the scene, no one was found.

The front of the home was damaged by the vehicle.

No one was reported to be injured.
