Heat Warning Until 10 PM tonight, then Heat Advisory overnight into Thursday PM
Good evening! The Twin Cities again saw record breaking heat today, for the second day in a row, reaching 98° (previous record 97°, 1891,1948). I hope you were able to find a way to stay cool today and avoid the outdoors. This evening is still brutally uncomfortable with dangerous heat. Heat Warnings are still in place through 10 PM for central and southern Minnesota into western Wisconsin (which includes all of the metro as well).
Once our Heat Warning expires, a Heat Advisory begins. The Heat Advisory stays in place overnight tonight through 7PM Thursday, with heat index values near 92° to 98°. Thursday is muggy forecast, even humid, but it won’t be as humid as the last couple days. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible Thursday, mainly PM across northwestern Minnesota. Friday features a better chance for scattered showers and storms for the Twin Cities and most of Minnesota into Wisconsin, with isolated severe storms possible. Friday is still warm and muggy, but your weekend forecast is cooler, beautiful and comfortable!
