Super Tuesday: What voters need to know
The Democratic presidential candidates are racing toward the biggest day on the primary calendar when 14 states vote on Super Tuesday.
Included in Super Tuesday is Minnesota's primary.
If you plan on heading to the polls Tuesday, here is what you need to know:
How do I register?
If not already eligible, individuals can register to vote in person on the day of the primary.
How do I vote?
Voters can vote in person or by voting early via mail. You can also locate your polling place here. Due to heavy demand on the page early Tuesday, the Secretary of State's website was temporarily redirecting some to an external site for finding nearby polling places. Polling places are usually open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
What should I bring?
If your voter registration is current and active, meaning you were registered to vote at least 21 days before the voting day and haven't moved or changed names, an identification card isn't required. If that is not the case, you will need to show proof of residence before voting.
What's on my ballot?
Two major parties, the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party and the Republican Party, have submitted candidates for the ballot. Other offices with a primary will be on the primary ballot in August.
What states are participating?
Fourteen states hold primaries on Super Tuesday: Arkansas, Alabama, California, Colorado, Maine, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Texas, Vermont, Utah, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee and Oklahoma.
It's Minnesota's first presidential primary since 1992.
