St. Paul firefighters respond to blaze at a home overnight
Crews in St. Paul battled a house fire overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday in the city’s Summit-University neighborhood.
A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS photographer was at the scene of the fire near North Dale Street and Dayton Avenue at around 11 p.m. Crews were called there just before 10:40 p.m., where they found heavy smoke and fire.
Additional video from a neighbor’s doorbell camera showed the moment the house went up in flames.
Nobody was inside the home when the fire started but the department says a firefighter was hurt during the department’s response.
The home suffered heavy damage, and crews were at the scene until shortly after 1 a.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
