Woman rescued from Mississippi River early Thursday morning

A woman was rescued from the Mississippi River on Thursday morning.
A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS photographer captured fire crews responding to the area near East River Flats Park and the University of Minnesota campus.
Our photographer saw the woman being brought to shore on a backboard and then taken to the hospital shortly after 6 a.m. No word on her condition at this time.
