In a press release from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the man has been identified as 41-year-old David John Beckes.
According to the St. Cloud Police Department, officers were sent to a report regarding an unresponsive man in an apartment on the 10 block of Wilson Avenue Southeast at 3:16 p.m. Wednesday.
Before officers got to the apartment, the female caller said the man identified as Beckes was now responsive and possibly having a seizure. A short time later the female caller told dispatch that Beckes was becoming physically aggressive toward her and eventually began assaulting and choking her.

Once officers arrived at the scene, they received no answer at the door and ultimately breached the door to gain access to the injured victim.
