1 dead, 1 seriously hurt in Stearns County crash
One person is dead and another is seriously hurt after a crash Thursday morning in Stearns County.
A Minnesota State Patrol crash report says it happened on Highway 23 near 246th Avenue just after 6:30 a.m.
According to the crash report, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado was behind a 1986 Oldsmobile sedan, both headed north on Highway 23, when the Chevy rear-ended the Oldsmobile.
The passenger in the Oldsmobile — later identified as 22-year-old Luke Andrew Jacobs, of Little Falls — was killed in the crash and the 35-year-old driver suffered life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol report says. Neither was wearing a seat belt at the time.
The driver of the Chevy suffered injuries that aren’t considered life-threatening but, like the driver of the Oldsmobile, was still taken to a hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
