Wolves’ Russell fined $20K for words to official
Minnesota Timberwolves guard D’Angelo Russell has been fined $20,000, the NBA announced Monday.
According to the league, the fine is for “inappropriate language” directed at an official near the end of Minnesota’s 135-128 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday.
It came in the Timberwolves’ first full game without star forward Karl-Anthony Towns, who is expected to miss more than a month.
Minnesota is back in action Wednesday against Indiana.
