Gophers QB Morgan named finalist for Wuerffel Trophy
University of Minnesota senior quarterback Tanner Morgan has been named a finalist for the Wuerffel Trophy.
The award is given each year to the college football player who best serves their community and works to make a positive impact on society.
Morgan, who is Minnesota’s winningest all-time quarterback at 33-14, has regularly been involved in the program’s charitable efforts and also has worked to build relationships with youth, especially hospital patients.
In addition to Morgan, the other two Wuerffel Trophy finalists are Florida State offensive lineman Dillan Gibbons and Stanford safety Patrick Fields.
The winner is scheduled to be announced on Dec. 8, with a formal presentation slated for Feb. 24.
