2 suffer gunshot wounds after altercation at Oakdale hotel, police investigate

The Oakdale Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at a hotel in the city Saturday morning. 

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says authorities were called around 6:18 a.m. to the Hilton Garden Inn. located in the 400 block of Inwood Avenue N. Upon arrival, police discovered that an altercation broke out between several people and two people were suffering from gunshot wounds. 

Officers encountered a male in the front driveway with a gunshot wound to his left forearm and another male with a gunshot wound to his chest. 

Both were transported to Regions Hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

A third victim was discovered to have an abrasion on his arm. 

Two people are in custody relating to this incident. Authorities add that alcohol was involved. 

Hilton Garden Inn is still open for business and the guests are still able to access their rooms. However, there will be an on-going police presence as investigators continue to gather information and evidence.
