Man, woman found dead in apparent Otter Tail County murder-suicide

Authorities say a man and a woman were found dead at a rural Battle Lake home Monday afternoon in what is believed to be a murder-suicide case.

According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement officials were called to the home shortly before 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Upon arrival, they found a 59-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman, according to the sheriff’s office.

There isn’t any threat to the public at this time, authorities believe.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office are assisting the sheriff’s office with the investigation.
