Rob Barrett from Cooking for Dads showed Ben and Elizabeth how to do a viral trend in the kitchen – accordion cuts for steaks and potatoes!
For Steak:
- Lay steak down on flat surface. Cut on and angle in strips about 1/2” wide but don’t cut all the way through. (You can use dowels or chopsticks to keep from cutting too far.)
- Flip steak over and cut on the same angle again with strips about 1/2” inches wide but not all the way through.
- Stretch out steak and use rub or marinade in all the wholes.
- Grill for 2 minutes each side over high heat.
For Potatoes:
- Trim potato to a rectangular block.
- Lay flat and cut on an angle 1/4” strips but not all the way through.
- Flip over and repeat on other side.
- insert a skewer through the middle to help stretch out the potato.
- Coat with olive oil and place in oven or air fryer until golden brown.
