Minnesota Vikings player Oli Udoh arrested

UPDATE 10/26/2022 4:50pm: Prior to the Vikings Wednesday practice session, Udoh spoke for the first time since his arrest.

UPDATE 10/26/22: Miami-Dade County Jail records received by KSTP Wednesday morning indicate Udoh was released the same day he was booked into jail.

Additionally, an attorney for Udoh sent the following statement to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS on Wednesday:

“Oli never followed a woman into the restroom and never prevented a woman from going anywhere – and I have personally verified that any allegation to the contrary is 100% false. In fact, the woman approached Oli that night and they had a cordial conversation which ended in their exchanging phone numbers. She has since reached out to us and has confirmed the allegations are completely false. Oli committed no crime whatsoever under Florida law, and we look forward to a speedy resolution of this case – one in which he never should have been arrested.”

UPDATE 10/24/22: Miami police have confirmed the arrest of Vikings player Oli Udoh in a report provided to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS on Monday morning.

The report details the following:

Udoh was arrested just after 3 a.m. ET Saturday for one count each of disorderly conduct and resisting an officer at the E11EVEN Miami nightclub, located at 29 NE 11st St.

Police say officers responding to an unrelated incident in front of the club when he saw a side door swing open and multiple security guards attempting to restrain Udoh.

Officers intervened and identified themselves, but Udoh continued to resist officers’ physical and verbal actions. Police arrested him, but Udoh continued to physically resist to hinder officers’ efforts to bring him to their squad car.

Police then learned from security that Udoh had been standing with an unidentified female in a bathroom line when he tried to enter the women’s restroom. Police say the security guard who witnessed Udoh’s actions gave him “multiple chances” to leave the bathroom, but he refused.

More guards were called to escort Udoh from the club, and his resistance and alleged aggression led to his arrest. He was taken to Miami-Dade Tgk Correctional Center. It is unclear at this time if Udoh has been released, or if he is still in custody.

Three officers had body-worn cameras.
