Black Pepper Shrimp

Yield: Serves 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes

1 lb large shrimp (size 16-20 or 12-15) or tiger prawns, peeled & deveined
4 T. butter
3 cloves garlic
2 tsp coarsely cracked black peppercorns
1 T oyster sauce
2 T rice wine vinegar
2 tsp sugar
½ tsp salt
2 T. chopped green onions

Preparation:

  1. Heat a skillet or wok over medium heat. Melt the butter and saute the garlic and black pepper until fragrant.
  2. Add the shrimp or prawns and saute, stirring occasionally, until almost cooked through.
  3. Add the oyster sauce, wine and sugar. Stir fry until the shrimp are cooked through and sauce is hot.
  4. Top with chopped green onions.
