Dr. Karin Ryan, psychologist from Nystrom & Associates is here to share some deep breathing exercises and explains why they help.

  • Belly breathing
  • Box breathing
  • Hand breathing
  • Pizza breathing

Why do these work?
When we breathe in, we take in oxygen that feeds our red blood cells and when we breathe out we release carbon dioxide which is waste gas. The more deeply we breathe, the better we make this “gas exchange” process.
Benefits: decreases stress, lowers heartrate, relieves pain, detoxifies the body, lower blood pressure, improves digestion.
