3 Twins named finalists for Gold Glove Award

Three Minnesota Twins players have been named finalists for the Gold Glove Award, which highlights the best defensive players at each position.

Finalists are chosen by managers and six coaches per team.

The top three from each league for each position are then named finalists.

Among those making the cut for the Twins this year are first baseman Luis Arraez, shortstop Carlos Correa and right fielder Max Kepler. Other Twins who may have been considered include third baseman Gio Urshela and center fielder Byron Buxton, although Buxton logged just 445.1 innings in the outfield this year.

Winners at each position will be announced on Nov. 1.

Correa won his first Gold Glove last year with Houston while neither Kepler nor Arraez has ever won a Gold Glove.
