Police looking for 1 suspect, black car after vehicle carrying woman, 2 kids hit by gunfire
UPDATE 1:30 p.m. 10/18/22: Authorities are looking for one suspect and what they believe to be a “smaller black sedan” after a gunfire incident Monday night, Brooklyn Park police tell 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS.
The victim, whose vehicle was shot at, is a 37-year-old woman. There was also a 15-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
At this time, police say they do not have any information on how or why the incident happened.

INITIAL REPORT 6:45 a.m. 10/18/22: A Brooklyn Park police alert says a female victim was allegedly shot at while driving in the area of Pearson and Sierra parkways Monday.
Police say they received two or more calls around 7:25 p.m. about shots fired in the area, which is close to Norwood Park and Highway 252 in Brooklyn Park.
A female victim, whose age wasn’t specified, told police her vehicle was shot at, and police found gunfire damage to the vehicle when she arrived at the station.
“Thankfully no one inside was hit,” the alert added. Police didn’t immediately say how many people were inside the vehicle.
Police also found shell casings in the area of the incident.
At this time, authorities haven’t found any suspects, but police say the suspects drove away after the incident. It is unclear how many suspects or suspect vehicles may have been involved.
