Minnesota Grocers Association says supply chain will remain open during COVID-19 outbreak, shelves will be restocked

Grocery stores everywhere are feeling the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak.

If you’ve tried to go to the supermarket lately, you’ve probably seen the bare shelves.

The Minnesota Grocers Association says the supply chain will remain open during the outbreak and shelves across the state will be restocked.

"We are going to get there," said Jamie Pfuhl, president of the Minnesota Grocers Association. "We are going to be alright, but we are going to need some patience, and it’s going to take all of us working together on that."

The association is asking for people to not over purchase items and to think of others.

"We also have to be mindful and think of our neighbors," Pfuhl said. "If you stocked up, let the next people get some."

The association is asking that people give special consideration during the first hour that a store is open, so that senior citizens, those with autoimmune diseases, first responders and people in health care can get products.
