Celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day
There are multiple indigenous events going on today around the state of Minnesota. Including an event called “Why it’s Great to Be Indigenous,” hosted by the Duluth Indigenous Commission, right outside Duluth City Hall. Also, the exhibit in the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul highlights communities and their stories, including Ojibwe and Dakota. In addition, you should check out the Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post in Onamia. The restored 1930s Trading Post is home to interactive exhibits that tell the story of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe.
