94-year-old woman dies in Sherburne County car vs. semi crash
A 94-year-old woman is dead after a collision between a car and a semi-truck around 8 p.m. Tuesday in Sherburne County, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.
The State Patrol identified the woman, who was the car’s passenger, as Arlene Marie Towler of Sartell.
She was taken to Centracare St. Cloud Hospital for her injuries, where she later died.
The car’s driver, a 93-year-old man from Sartell, and the truck driver, a 29-year-old man from Crystal, were not hurt.
All were wearing seatbelts.
According to the report, the car was traveling east on 42nd Street and the truck was traveling east on Highway 10 near milepost 183 in Haven Township. The truck hit the car while the car was crossing eastbound highway traffic at the intersection.
Alcohol was not involved, and roads were dry at the time of the crash.
