Man sentenced to 3 years in prison for shooting ex-girlfriend in the buttocks
A man who pleaded guilty to an assault charge after shooting his ex-girlfriend in the buttocks was sentenced to three years in prison.
Court documents show that 31-year-old Fredrick Davis of Mobile, Alabama, was sentenced to 36 months in prison with 217 days credit for time served.

Davis, who also went by the nickname “Alabama,” pleaded guilty to second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon causing substantial bodily harm on July 11. Another assault charge was dismissed, court records show.
St. Paul police responded to the 400 block of Minnehaha Avenue East after receiving multiple reports of a shooting on Aug. 19, 2021. The criminal complaint states that officers found a vehicle with damage from multiple gunshots and spent 9 mm casings on the ground. Police then learned that a 23-year-old woman was brought to the hospital with gunshot wounds before they arrieved.
That woman told police that Davis shot at her. One of the bullets had entered through her left buttock and exited through her right leg, according to the complaint. The two used to live together prior to the shooting.

Another man who Davis was shooting at in the same incident was uninjured.
