Animal Humane Society to close to public during COVID-19 pandemic

The Animal Humane Society announced Wednesday it will close its doors to the public during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a news release, AHS said adoptions will continue while its staff works to move animals to its Golden Valley location.

Disruptions due to COVID-19 outbreak

The closures of the organization’s sites will occur as follows:

  • The Coon Rapids location will close at 8 p.m. Thursday.
  • The St. Paul location will close at 8 p.m. Friday.
  • The Woodbury location will close at 6 p.m. Saturday.
  • The Golden Valley location will close at 6 p.m. Sunday.

While its locations will be closed to the public, AHS will continue to investigate instances of animal abuse, take in surrenders and strays and provide care and medical treatment to the animals in its shelters.
