Shots fired call outside of Brooklyn Park apartment complex results in 1 arrest
Police say one person is in custody after allegedly firing multiple shots outside of a Brooklyn Park apartment complex late Monday night.
According to Brooklyn Park police, officers were called to the Autumn Ridge Apartment complex, located on 63rd Avenue North, at 10:43 p.m. for a weapons complaint.
The caller, identified as a 23-year-old woman, stated a 32-year-old man who she knew came to her door and showed a handgun.
While officers were responding, the woman said the man had started shooting outside of the building.
When officers arrived, they found the apartment unit the suspect was reportedly inside after the gunshots had been fired. Brooklyn Park police also say they determined the man had fired several rounds at the woman, adding she wasn’t hit, and no one else had been injured.
Eventually, everyone inside the apartment was called out, and the suspect was identified as one of the people who had exited.
The man was arrested on charges of felony assault, and police say they found evidence of gunfire outside of the building. They also found a gun inside of the apartment during a search.
