If you stopped at a Dunkin’ location Friday morning, you may have noticed a local police officer on the roof.
It was part of the sixth annual Cop on a Rooftop event, which raises money for Special Olympics Minnesota.
More than a dozen locations across the state participated in the event, which ran until 11 a.m.
Customers who donated to the fundraiser get a coupon for a free doughnut, and those who donated at least $10 get a coupon for a free medium hot coffee.
One of the officers who camped on a Dunkin’ rooftop Friday was Maplewood Police Officer Tony Gabriel, who enjoys the event.
“Just sit up there by myself, wave to people … anytime I’m at a doughnut shop, it’s pretty dang good,” Gabriel said.
Organizers say the event raised $30,000 for Special Olympics Minnesota.
