Fatal crash closes portion of Hwy 95 in Scandia
Authorities said a fatal crash has closed a portion of Highway 95 in Scandia on Wednesday afternoon.
The Minnesota State Patrol said Highway 95 will be closed for an extended period of time due to the crash.
The crash happened near the intersection of Highway 95 and 220th Street North at about 3 p.m., according to the State Patrol.
According to the State Patrol’s crash report, a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado was headed south on Highway 95 when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound semi-truck.
The 86-year-old driver of the Chevrolet — identified as Victor Ludwig Falkner, of Forest Lake — was killed in the crash. The driver of the semi wasn’t injured.
An investigation is ongoing.
