NBA suspends Wolves guard Beasley for 12 games over violent threats

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley will miss a dozen games due to suspension by the NBA, KSTP Sports has confirmed.
The league announced Beasley’s suspension on Thursday in connection to his violent threats he made in September.
Beasley was charged and pleaded guilty to making violent threats, and was sentenced earlier this month to 120 days in jail, to be served after the NBA season ends.
His absence will be the latest in a long line of them this season for the Wolves, who’ve dealt with temporary absences of both Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell, among other key players, and just changed head coaches. The team has the worst record in the league at 7-26.
"As an organization, we fully support today’s decision by the NBA," Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas said in a statement. "As we work together with Malik to advance his development as a player and a person, we look forward to seeing his growth."
