An inmate at the Sandstone Federal Correctional Institution was sentenced to additional prison time for trying to obtain contraband.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said 46-year-old Curtis Brent Carico was given three extra months in federal prison for trying to get a controlled substance. He previously pleaded guilty to the charge in September.
According to his guilty plea, Carico conspired with a co-defendant to have a magazine mailed to him that contained a page that’d been soaked with liquid synthetic cannabinoid, a prohibited Schedule I controlled substance.
