Arrest made in connection to fatal shooting of 20-year-old man at St. Paul Saloon
The St. Paul Police Department announced Friday morning that an arrest has been made in connection to the deadly shooting of a 20-year-old man at the St. Paul Saloon Tuesday.
Police say Andrew Vernard Glover, 36, was arrested without incident at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday on the 500 block of Jenks Avenue. He has been booked in the Ramsey County Jail and official charges are expected to be announced by the county attorney’s office.
"I’m incredibly proud of our officers, investigators and everyone with the SPPD who found the person responsible for this death. These law enforcement professionals pour their hearts into these cases– for the victims, their families and the entire city," Police Chief Todd Axtell said Friday in a statement.
Shooting at St. Paul Saloon leaves 20-year-old man dead, woman injured
According to police, officers were called to the St. Paul Saloon on the 1000 block of Old Hudson Road on a report of a shooting just after 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Two people who had suffered gunshot wounds, a man and a woman, were found at the scene and taken to Regions Hospital.
The man later died, and the woman is stable, police said. The man was later identified as 20-year-old Raymond Renteria Hobbs.
The death marked the seventh homicide in the city in 2021.
