The Minnesota Vikings will induct former defensive end Jared Allen into the team’s Ring of Honor during halftime of the team’s game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, October 30 at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Allen played six season with the Vikings (2008-2013) and was 1st-team All-Pro three times during his stay in Minnesota. Allen set the Vikings single-season sack record with 22 in 2011, a mark that is still tied for 3rd all-time in NFL history. His 136 career sacks ranks as the 12th-most in NFL history.
“Jared played with a passion, energy and drive that few players are able to match,” said Vikings Owner/President Mark Wilf. “He raised the level of play for everyone around him with his relentless approach.”
Allen will be the 27th member of the Vikings Ring of Honor.
