Minnesota Department of Health distributing monkeypox vaccines based on risk and outbreaks
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) says that it is distributing monkeypox (MPV) vaccines to areas with high-risk individuals and recorded outbreaks.
Health officials say there are currently about 3,000 doses in Minnesota, most of which are located in the Twin Cities metro. MDH says it also has “ensured access” for the rest of the state.
MDH is working with local health departments and care providers to “reach people who are at highest risk of monkeypox” so they can vaccinate their patients.
Monkeypox is spread through close skin-to-skin contact. More on symptoms and transmission can be found here.
