Q&A: Twins scouting director Sean Johnson reviews 2022 Draft Class

Scouting director Sean Johnson spoke with KSTP’s Darren Wolfson about the Twins’ 2022 Draft Class. The Twins selected 20 total players, including: seven right-handed pitchers, two left-handed pitchers, two catchers, seven infielders and two outfielders.
Of the 20 total players selected over the three days, 17 were drafted out of college and three out of high school.

The Twins’ first round pick was Cal Poly SS Brooks Lee. He’s agreed to a contract that will pay him a signing bonus of $5.675M. Lee will report to Fort Myers to sign his contract.
Lee, 21, a switch-hitter, hit .357 with 15 home runs and 25 doubles last season while walking 46 times and only striking out 28 times.
