Body recovered from Mississippi River near dam in St. Paul
A body that authorities believe was in the Mississippi River “for months” was recovered Tuesday afternoon on the west bank of the river in St. Paul.
According to the St. Paul Fire Department, the body was discovered around 2:45 p.m. near the Twin Cities Hydroelectric Facility by the intersection of Mississippi River Boulevard and Ford Parkway.
Crews spent more than an hour recovering the body, the fire department said, and the remains have been turned over to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
