Woman arrested after homes evacuated in Spicer
A woman was arrested Sunday night after a weapons complaint led to the evacuation of several homes in Spicer.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office says law enforcement responded to a report of shots fired in a home on the 200 block of Fifth Avenue just before 6 p.m. Sunday.
Deputies started evacuating residents from nearby homes and law enforcement set up a perimeter.
Authorities say initial attempts to contact the 60-year-old suspect weren’t successful but a SWAT team later got a response and the woman exited the home. However, the sheriff’s office says the woman still wasn’t fully compliant and less-lethal rounds were deployed to subdue her. She was then taken to the Kandiyohi County jail.
The case remains under investigation.
