Occupied vehicle shot at early Sunday morning in Brooklyn Park, no injuries reported
Police say no one inside a vehicle that was shot at overnight was reported to be injured early Sunday.
According to Brooklyn Park police, officers were called to the 4400 block of 95th Avenue North just after midnight Sunday for a report of a vehicle being shot at.
When they arrived, officers found a vehicle which had rear bumper damage.
Police initially didn’t provide any details about the people inside the vehicle, only saying the victims weren’t hit by gunfire. Monday, police said two people were inside the vehicle.
Their investigation so far shows the driver pulled into the Noble Park N Ride and an unknown suspect began firing multiple times. Nearly a dozen spent shell casings were found.
Police said Monday they suspect the vehicle may have been shot at due to mistaken identity.
As of this time, a description of the suspected shooter and the shooter’s vehicle haven’t been given.
An investigation is ongoing, and police are continuing to search for those responsible for the shooting.
