Eastbound Hwy 55 to close Thursday on Mendota Bridge
Drivers will need to find an alternate route Thursday if they typically take eastbound Highway 55 over the Mendota Bridge.
According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), all eastbound lanes of the highway will be closed on the bridge as crews resurface the bridge deck.
The closure between highways 5 and 13 lasts from 5 a.m. Thursday until sometime in mid-August.
In addition to the eastbound lanes closing, two ramps will also close for the duration of the project – the ramp from southbound Highway 5 to eastbound Highway 55 and the ramp from eastbound Highway 62 to northbound Highway 55.
The closures are part of a larger project, which MnDOT says extends from Minneapolis to Inver grove Heights.
All work is expected to be done by October.
